The consolidation of the three websites began with a massive audit of over 300 pages to understand their overall business – publishing, live streaming, podcasts, betting guides and more. The more pages we audited, the more we gleaned possible requirements and questions to ask stakeholders.
At the end of our discover phase, we deemed our main challenge was producing a navigation that reflected the revolving door of business priorities based on broadcast deals, while consistently being user-friendly.

From users to stakeholders, it was clear that their websites' quality fell far behind their broadcast quality.
To bring NBCSports.com up to speed, we needed to devise a new design system that encompassed components that could flex from editorial needs to charts and tables for sports coverage. The new system would unify the look and feel of the three encompassing brands.

With an infinite combinations of athletes and teams, we knew each experience need to be unique to the user.
So to make NBCSports.com work smarter, we wanted to add features that users easily create an account and input their interests – thus giving them motivation to return.
